Volunteer
Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference in the life of someone in crisis.
Foodbank Team Leader at Bexhill
We are seeking one or two new volunteers who would like to regularly serve with the Bexhill Foodbank at our open sessions. Ideally, you’d like to serve at least twice a month.
As Team Leader you’d be required to volunteer at our open shifts. Preferably you’d be available across the three days, but if you only have availability on one or two of them please still apply:
Tuesday – 12.15pm – 3.15pm
Thursday – 9.15am – 12.15pm
Friday – 2.15pm – 5.15pm
Initially, you’d be working as a general volunteer along with one of the foodbank managers to learn all about the work of the foodbank and how the open shift runs. Then once you feel confident you’d take on the Team Leader or Voucher Processor role to expand your knowledge and level of responsibility.
As the Team Leader you need to feel confident to lead a small team, take responsibility for the smooth running of the session, be computer literate and able to learn a new (simple) computer system, be able to talk to people from all walks of life, be able to lift bags equivalent to a weekly shop and feel comfortable to make decisions in a (sometimes) busy environment.
Foodbank Team Leader at Battle
We are seeking one or two new volunteers who would like to regularly serve with the Battle Foodbank at our open sessions. Ideally, you’d like to serve at least once/twice a month.
As Team Leader you’d be required to volunteer at our open shift on:
