Campaign

Find out how we’re campaigning to support the local community and end the need for food banks in the UK, ensuring no one needs a food bank to survive.

Campaign with us

Bexhill & Battle Foodbank is about so much more than just providing emergency food. It’s about listening to the people in our communities who face hardship, understanding the issues that matter most to them, and working together for meaningful change.

Trussell believes that no one should need to rely on a foodbank, and that real, lasting solutions begin with the voices of people who have lived experience of poverty, and we couldn't agree more.

How We Work

We have a dedicated community group for each foodbank area who meet monthly. These meetings give members time to explore the issues affecting their lives, carry out research, and plan actions that move each campaign forward.
Every voice is valued, and every member plays a vital role in shaping the direction of our work. Collaboration is at the heart of who we are and what we do.

What’s Happening in Your Area?

Bexhill – Bexhill Better Together

Our Bexhill group has identified a major gap in local support for parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Families report a lack of face-to-face support and limited suitable, affordable activities for their children. We are currently researching the issue in depth and developing a strategy to increase support and opportunities for SEN families in Bexhill.

Battle – Battle Standing for Change

Our Battle group is still growing, with a mix of foodbank volunteers and local residents already getting involved. To make this campaign truly reflect the needs of people facing hardship in the Battle area, we are continuing to welcome new members with lived experience. As the group develops, so will our understanding of the challenges local people face—and the solutions they want to see.
